Bushfire Bar and Grill, is a family friendly and family owned owned Restaurant based in Hamilton, New Zealand
Owners Rico and Danelle Louw is South African born and bred and been calling New Zealand Hamilton, home for the past 12 years.
It has always been a dream of ours to own a Restaurant of our own.
So we thought why not open the first South African style Restaurant in Hamilton.
Hamilton has so many awesome restaurants but we have always missed a good flame grilled steak, ribs or yummy Peri Peri chicken. served with Pap and Sauce.
Food that brings back memories and good feels.
Absolutely Amazing. The closest you will ever get to South African food in Hamilton. Had my sons 16th Birthday there. They played the Happy Birthday song and gave him a waffle. You will definitely see me again. Well done guys. Proudly South African.
It was ok. We were looking forward to something different. We did first table. No vegetarian or fish mains. $6 for a can of coke. The onion rings tasted nice. Had the salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, feta) and chicken (without sauce for dietary reasons). It was what it was, probably better with sauce, but at full price not worth $35. Ribs were apparently great. The starters were a good size and tasted ok. My boys might go back for ribs, but I wouldn’t return. I would have been unhappy paying full price tbh
The staff are so lovely and friendly happy to help you the food was absolutely amazing I had a mix grill the ribs absolutely perfect way bigger then you get at most places the quarter chicken is so moist tender juicy flavor some the lamb chop omg guys what ever you put in the potato salad so simple but so yummy aswell as the cheesy garlic bread wow so much better then most places you go for a steak or a rib in Hamilton amazing food honestly I'd you haven't been go today it's bloody amazing
Finally was able to make a reservation at Bushfire Bar and GRILL. The food was delicious and perfect Portion sizes. Got to taste snail for the first time. Looking forward to returning soon. Friendly staff.
We really enjoyed our meals and experience here and really was true South African food. We both had a drink(s), main and shared a dessert and we felt it was really well priced and very good portion sizes, we had leftovers. Staff were really friendly and loved all the little 🇿🇦 quirks. Highly recommend 🙌🙌
We had a very good time here. The food was so yum ! Specially the steak and also the vegetarian options.The mushrooms I like less oily but still very yum.I’ll definitely come back!
Great South African restaurant in Hamilton.We ordered the lamb curry, mix grill, sirloin steak and the full pork ribs.Wow there was a lot of food! And all delicious - not a single bite was left.The sweet potato mash (in the veges side) was amazing 🤤Very reasonable at about $35- a person, but we only got food, no drinks or dessert.Thanks team, we’ll be back again!
Great food, good prices, good service - if you're looking for generous portions and a relaxed atmosphere, can recommend. The vegetables were particularly delicious - all very nostalgic!
